      Some Mentors Not Good at Mentoring

      Pros

      Better than C.R. England, better pay, cares more about drivers. More terminals, management better, communication okay. Driver manager apologized for mistakes. Pays for orientation unlike England.

      Cons

      Mentor slept while I was driving, got upset because I couldn't make a u-turn because another truck was blocking the on ramp. Got mad and dropped me off at terminal, after threatening to throw me out in the middle of no where. Haven't gotten a new mentor in over a week.

      Shop technician .... It's a Disappointing and depressing company to work for.

      Pros

      Plenty of overtime, depending at what shop you work for.It's Olay for someone who does not have too much experience. Good place to get your feet wet.

      Cons

      1.Don't care about safety 2. Service trucks are broken down 3. Roadcalls 24/7 no matter how many hours you have worked on your shift 4. Shop management does not care about you. 5 Bad shop morale , bad company culture 6. Very little raises , if you're lucky you'll get 50 cents a year normally it's between 20 and 30 cents.

      Pros

      the best thing about working for Swift Transportation is the people. They care and they love the company and the owner.

      Cons

      The only challenge was the CDL school TDA. it is an accelerated class, not a good fit for anyone not proficient driving a manual transmission. Also the student to instructor ratio is between 4-8 to 1. so very little one on one instruction. that being said you can get thru it as most of our class did. You must work hard and make sure you get your time behind the wheel.
