      Stable Company and Good People

      Pros

      Good pay. Great 401k match at 12% (unheard of). Good vacation time and work from home work life balance. Many smart people to learn and grow from.

      Cons

      Too large and too old and thus its hard to grow. Focuses in recent years have been more on cutting operating costs (i.e - headcount/salaries) and redirect to offshoring initiatives, cutting layers, etc. When not in growth, its hard to grow your career. But overall they do it most conservative way possible which is good. Its the cycle of a large business.

      Pros

      Colleagues are conscious of upholding Swiss Re's reputation. The firm has a long history and plenty of experience to draw upon. For a financial services firm, the environment is warm and pressure is not overbearing.

      Cons

      Swiss Re's "reputation" and long history do not always allow for innovation and outward-looking learning. Very white and male in general, but certain teams are more diverse.
