Not what I thought it would be

Pros

Paid benefits, cool office and overall it's a close commute if you're coming from the suburbs ( Via metra and or L).

Cons

The company has terrible vendors and expect recruiters to fill roles which 20 other agencies also compete for. Managers will force people to write reviews and in most instances you can read through and see which reviews are clearly written by hr or marketing. The office plays favorites and selects promotion mostly on tenure and not necessarily performance. Some individuals have been promoted to roles which reflect nothing to do with performance- if you were to take them and place them in another company with same title and duties, they would most likely fail. Which speaks volume of the why this company blows a lot of smoke.

Pros

Paid healthcare, decent base salary compared to other agencies, downtown modernized office, 401k benefits, just opened up a new office in San Diego, management staff and owners, growing company.

Cons

Commission structure is not that great (both book of business and initial), no real room for growth, office politics, not that many dependable / winnable clients for big margin potential for VMS.

LOVE MY SWOON FAMILY!

Pros

During my time at Swoon, it was my personal experience that... 1. Internal & external employees are treated VERY well. Some examples include: relaxed dress code, generous vacation/sick pay from Day 1, good benefits, competitive pay, and fun events like Lolla tips, BBQs, record club Fridays, etc. 2. Swoon was very much (and still is) like a family environment where mostly everyone truly wanted each other to do well and will help out any way they can. There was a sense of camaraderie most of the time, and that's important in the staffing industry. 3. HONESTY & TRANSPARENCY is encouraged. Employees every quarter to see how Swoon is doing, which is rare. Employees are able to contribute their ideas and every single one is taken into consideration. Also, leadership has done a nice job in telling it like it is while also working with you to be successful. There will ultimately be hard conversations to have, disagreements, frustrations, etc. That's life. But if you can get past that and understand that healthy dialogue is good, then it can promote long-term growth. 4. You're rewarded for your work. In this industry, there will be some late nights / long hours. But if you put in the time and are diligent, you can make good money. 5. Swoon treats their clients VERY well and are committed to establishing and building long-term, healthy relationships. 6. The company is growing! It's exciting to see a legit west coast office opening up because business has grown so much!

Cons

Not many, really. I suppose training could continue to improve, which I know is a focal point and is always evolving.
