Pros

they emphasize work life balance- and do a pretty good job of it location is great- restaurants, shopping around Bus station is close by, easy to get to

Cons

As long as you do your part of the work, don't worry about the project being successful. Company thrives on pointing fingers by management, so be prepared to cover your butt. Some IT managers say they reward for hard work, but they like to talk about people differently when your not around. Working on mainframe systems is not fun for someone who has developed on other systems

Pros

Employees were good people and good intentions. Safeco culture and history and strength were a great basis. Upper management changes blew up a functioning company. Not sure what the Japanese are going to do with it but it will be interesting to watch whether they dismantle Bellevue for a move to the East Coast or absorb the clients along with another good buy.

Cons

Went Public and lost focus. Brought in big wigs from big Insurance Companies to "fix it". Lost and laid off a lot of good employees. Then cleaned house again and cleaned out the big wigs. Seem to be trying to find focus again and seem to have been perfect for acquisition. Product mix seems to be a struggle as well. Life Division seems to be the continued albatross for the company.

Pros

They pay every two weeks... They are located across the street from the bus transit center.... They have a Starbucks next door.

Cons

Don't care for their employees, only the stock price. I am a dedicated employee & hard worker but I'm having to watch my peers fall apart around me from overwork & lack of work/life balance. We are penalized if we answer honestly in the Employee Engagement Surveys. No privacy at desks & have to work in itty bitty cubicles. Lousy managers & no way to give performance feedback on your manager.
