It’s always gratifying to read what people find to be positive about their experience at Symetra. The importance of work-life balance for personal regeneration, growth, and deepening one’s career is a commonly held belief held across the organization. In regards to your comment about accountability, please know that it is recognized and receiving direct focus. We are getting much greater clarity on roles and accountabilities, especially in our IT Transformation work. Symetra is intentionally changing and adapting to the new realities we’re all experiencing in our lives.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Coworkers are nice and helpful. Senior leadership ideals for company culture is great. When it's good, it's good.

Cons

Management quality varies by team. Experianced textbook toxic, aggressive workplace behaviors and gaslighting from my department's senior management. Spoke up to department leadership and felt minimized and overall uncomfortable with their response. Also, management demographics not diverse and titles matter.
