Pros

Great benefits - 6% 401K match, pet insurance and 3 days a week work from home.

Cons

Micro-management culture- Manager and supervisor does not trust the team, like to humiliate and causes stress/fear on the team. It's tough to get promoted. Short staffed and working long hours to meet deadlines.

Thank you for taking time to provide feedback, both the good and the bad. What you describe isn’t consistent with how we expect managers to lead. It’s unfortunate that you’ve already left Symetra – we always hope that employees speak up about their experience before they decide to leave, so we have a chance to do something about it.

Pros

Great opportunity to be part of the bigger picture

Cons

If in a field location, you are on an island by yourself. Management bands together and when situations require you take it to a higher level, you are quickly ousted with no support from management. They create their own version of what happens and then you are left with no support.

Pros

It’s a job and the CEO is actually really nice and down to earth.

Cons

Managers only talk with other managers, very clicky. Those who are promoted play the brown-nose game. Managers are highly superficial. The pay is horrible-Can make more holding a construction sign. Large generational gap; 2/3 of the floor is baby boomer generation which is probably why socializing leads to promotions. Employees don’t talk to each other, everyone is out to make themselves look good. Most people have degrees in finance and are paid less than 40k a year. My manager lies when they don’t have the answer, I then find out different info from other team members.
