Pros

Ability to create your own schedule, you are your own boss

Cons

You have to buy all of your leads in order to find clients to sell to, which typically amounts to anywhere from $200-$300 per week just to get contact info from people. You're pretty much on your own in terms of having to go into strangers homes by yourself and sell them very expensive policies for not the greatest coverage. Clients can cancel their policies in the first 30 days, meaning whatever commission you got paid for the policy initially, goes back as a "debt" to the carrier. This is a huge problem because then when you go sell another policy, you don't get paid until that balance is paid off. VERY frustrating. They market the job as being "part time work for full time pay" but once you're in, you realize that it could take years of working 50+ hours/week before that's true.

Pros

Apparently a few do well. If they gave what they promised and trained you at all, it could be great. The four cornerstones they're founded on are great - but I didn't see them in action.

Cons

Spent $1,000's on leads over six weeks (average $200/week), no role-playing or trainer my agency owner was supposed to provide, treat people who need training and help as failures. They don't care if you make it or not -- they just recruit a dozen more to replace you, who also don't make it ... except for a few. If I could grade my agent owner, he wouldn't even get one star. He's made a lot of money and if he used to care about those under him, he no longer seems to.

Pros

Life/Work balance Lots of time with family because you aren't making any money

Cons

Lots of promises but no results. Say you can make lots of money but never do! Stay away! Check out reviews from other agents…google "Symmetry Financial" High cost for leads that are outdated & called on several times from other agents. Unorganized management
