Excellent Company and Culture /employee morale varies by direct manager
Pros
Sense of community. People genuinely care about doing their job. Excellent location away from all the city craziness. Great pay and benefits. There is a sense that anyone can move up or move laterally. Lots of exposure to upper management and opportunities to interact and grow. Lots of recognition and fun initiatives. Truly awesome people.
Cons
Upper management seems disconnected from the struggles of the lower levels of the organization. Terrible managers get promoted because they exploit their teams and get recognition, so they are seen as shining stars, and there is no way to safely say something about this imbalance. Feels like people can't do anything to change the situation without risking their job. It's a shame because some people are building their careers without much knowledge of the teams they are supposed to lead, getting all the credit from the work put in by others.
