Pros

Pay was decent at 11 an hour for basic starting call center CS work, There is a small gym on site, a cafeteria during the normal day shift, 14 days of vacation a year starting with floating holidays and additionally sick days, And a small break room upstairs with free coffee/tea and vending machines. 401k match was 4% then, good health/vision/dental benefits starting day 1 Medical benefits on day 1. When i was there 4-5 weeks of actual training with full pay. Incentive bonuses after 6 months probation if you meet call metrics. -Ability for promotion that is encouraged within the company after 6 months. Management is generally friendly, though they expect timeliness and that you comply to your schedule. As a customer service rep, you have a decent level of autonomy to fix and resolve problems for customers and correct errors or provide some financial recompense for inconvenience or errors, had to escalate calls maybe once every other day. Standards are clear and consistent. . Relatively good about time off if asked for early enough in advance. Relatively relaxed dress code, unless management is visiting, ie public school dress code, nothing offensive or torn. Generally found it easy work, but better opportunities came along and I'm not a big customer service job fan.

Cons

You'll be dealing with phone customers for 8-10 hrs a day (over 40hr week overtime pay, not mandatory) and people are usually not calling because its a good day. The work can be rather boring and rote. Staffing levels vary as new accounts come on or new corporate customers. Some days it slow and people have the opportunity(by choice) to go home early, other days it's back to back calls. The longer you're there the more account types you handle, You have scheduled breaks for lunch and two other times during a shift (bathroom at will of course), so if you don't like sitting, can be frustrating. (encouraged and expected to take breaks at scheduled times as part of metrics)
