      Pros

      I have been working for Synopsys for 11 years. Company has a very good executive management. work/life balance is pretty decent

      Cons

      Middle management (especially in the CAE side) is poor and stagnant. Most managers are technically competent, but are old school and lack management skills Managers (at least in our group) behave very differently with their management versus with their reports. Disagreement is NOT appreciated. You have to literally suck up to your manager to be in good books. There is not much room for career growth for the CAEs. Lack of recognition for good work is prominent in all groups.

      Pros

      Pretty decent pay, some WFH flexibility, great team.

      Cons

      Manager was so brutal that we lost three people on an already lean team within the space of two years. HR was notified of this issue four separate times by several people but have continued to allow this person to terrorize their direct reports simply because they are "too busy to replace them". All experiences prior to this manager joining were positive.
