Pros

Several positions available for consultants. Coworkers are great.

Cons

Salary is below industry average. Company is very profit driven. Lose a couple clients? Let go a couple people. My managers had to management experience. Always on employees about billable hours.

Pros

-The staff in general is pretty great, some good people work here. -Beer via Kegerator in the kitchen. -Nerf guns? Honestly it's hard to come up with any work related pros.............

Cons

I have given years to this place, and every time I push for change I'm told, "Just be happy you have a job." At this point I'm so burned out and defeated, I have no idea what the future holds for me. I can honestly say Synoptek has killed any drive for me working in the world of computers, I seek no progression. For now this place is just a paycheck. Pretty much in every aspect, Synoptek is not doing well. Employee moral is at an all time low, primarily due to lack of proper compensation and poor management. Financial issues are everywhere, which is odd since we recently acquired what was left of EarthLink for 29 million dollars. Yea that actually happened, Google it. Current contact-locked clients are very disappointed with the support structure, which in turn hurts the company image. It appears all Synoptek has to offer to clients is smoke and mirrors, lies and deception. One of many examples, we on-boarded a client that needed their own SAN. The client refused since it would come at great expense. What was the Sales Team answer to secure that contact and get the commission? Well migrate all the client data to our own nearly full SAN of course. For months, yes months, our ENTIRE SAN environment crashed at random. The Server team was constantly thrown through the meat grinder even though many on the team said this would happen. We hemorrhaged clients left and right until management finally got a clue to expand the SAN. The fact this situation even happened is mind-blowing to me. Here at Synoptek, severe issues like this happen all the time. We lost good people because of that terrible judgment. I can go on for ages about all the bad this place has to offer. Read some of the other reviews, see what people have to say. Its obvious anything 5 star was written by management or a corporate pet. Do yourself a solid and stay away from this place.

Pros

Good pay, smart co-workers, nice work environment.

Cons

I don't know who my leadership team is really and communication is poor. I believe the leadership is making strides to correct this, but has a way to go yet.
