Pros

Fair pay if you are willing to work 60+ hrs a week. Excellent benefits.

Cons

Management is horrible, lazy and very cut throat. The company has the potential to acquire more business with the correct management team. Management doesn't support the employees whom are the back bone of the company.

Pros

Independence, Recognizable Company Name for resume. real world street sales. Clientele is nice if they haven't been too abused in the past by food service reps

Cons

Chains are handled by National Sales and there are not nearly enough independent companies to be able to keep the sales staff occupied. Margins tight and compensation doesn't meet investment of time. If they propose commission and declining salary.... run for the hills. No Margins left in food and Sysco takes their cut first Turnover rate in sales over 50% with about 100 reps in less than a year. Pricing usually higher than competitors on same items

Driver safety

Pros

It's a job.... that's about it

Cons

HR department expects drivers to break the law by packing as many stops on the manifest that they can, do not factor in lunches or breaks for employees and always considers themselves above all else. Employees are never backed up and are rather thought of as disposable. Cameras in trucks are not for the drivers safety but rather to spy on workers. Employees are expected to go over and above for the company and break basic laws even when it is pointed out to them. Last manifest had approximate delivery time as 14 hour:27 min without lunches or breaks. Where in Canada are you allowed to drive this many hours without having to worry about being fined. Also I've looked everywhere and cannot find the "Codes of Conduct" anywhere, anyone can help. The HR department has yet to forward to me.
