Pros

Having staff discount and receiving a bonus in vouchers so that it was tax free.

Cons

You are expected to be in 5 places at once, I.E putting stock out, being on tills, being on fitting rooms and tidying the shop floor. You spend hours everyday tidying your department for it to be trashed again at which point a manager will walk past and tell you to sort it out.

Pros

work is straight forward Best 3.0 makes everything much easier for associates. An enjoyable place to work

Cons

My store manager is absolutely useless at his job and is paid ridiculously to sit in the systems office. When he does finally come out (usually a few minutes before he has to leave) he then irritates all members of staff The Company rarely hire from within so there are hardly any opportunities for associates to progress despite hiring from within being the most sustainable and best option in providing knowledgeable and hard working employees in my opinion. This leaves associates in a 'dead end' situation so therefore they aren't bothered about the job its just a job to them. Give your associates something to work for and you will see change. The company hire people who have never worked in a tk maxx store to produce "new and exciting" ways to run the business however they are usually totally worthless and simply do not function in a store. Despite this the company consistently pumps useless ideas into stores that rarely work as the brainiacs behind the ideas haven't worked a day in a store and therefore have no idea what they are doing. Money down the toilet. The payroll is so tiny the work is stressful and hard which associates are rarely rewarded for. On that note there are little to no reward schemes for working hard sometimes an svc card is given out for entries onto the EPC form but apart from this hard working associates go unnoticed.

Pros

Staff are mostly young students and if you fit into that generation then you'll have a great time working at T.K. Maxx. Hours are flexible and so are the job roles.

Cons

Lack of progression, recognition and any form of merit. Soon enough you'll hit a glass ceiling and that's where you'll start looking for other jobs. Managers have their favourites and regardless of their work ethics, they'll still be at the top of the pecking order when it comes to promotion. Internal vacancies are not advertised at our store as the management favours keeping the core staff in the store as opposed to progressing them. Underpaid or undercut salaries on a frequent basis. End of every month you'll always have staff members who have been underpaid from the hours they've worked.
