Pros

Company has great benefits, laid back type of environment.. Ok place to work for to get your feet wet. Working hours are great no weekends . They provide breakfast for the employees on payday

Cons

It would be a better place if it was more job opportunities for mid level employees your upper management continues to advance in better paying jobs, there's (NO) room for growth in the accounting department, Hostile,Complicated, over Micro Managed an very demanding department , pennies given out for raises . Certain individuals can come and do as they choose to with no repercussion behind them . The Director place blind shields on. Lack of respect in the department ( the Suggestion box is only that a box only filled up with suggestionS) The department needs to be more should be fair to all individuals seniority does have an important role but when it comes to being a team player and being fair across the board with everything that should be there is a big problem in doing so. When requesting time off from work and you give your request into management your giving a hard time about taking off only certain individuals based on if they don't have anything going on you are granted that time off. Confidentiality is just a word if you come to your superior for any problems that you may have its told to their personal click within the same hour . Too repetitive nothing challenging within the department. The turnover rate is horrendous from upper management to HR there have been numerous suggestions and complaints to have nothing done. They create jobs for certain individuals whereas individual within the department there is no room for growth forcing you to look elsewhere outside of tbc. When they mentioned cross training will be provided the individuals who are the team leaders they give you items as well as miscellaneous items that they would not want to do and that's part of your training. They talk down at you there's no respect truly disrespectful department to work for. You're always classified as a newbie and your thoughts or suggestions go unmentioned. Certain individuals rely on social media from 8 to 5 vs coming to do a job that you are paid for. My recommendations for tbc would definitely not be in the accounting department in other areas maybe but I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to the accounting and finance department

Pros

They have a great employee purchase plan! If you can sell, and manage not to burn the place down, "opportunity for advancement" awaits you! Most of their stores have an established customer base.

Cons

Hours of business are not practical (Even for a retail establishment). There is very little support from store level management. The commission plan is too aggressive, and base pay is too low. It is hard to close sales because pricing is astronomical and most of the customer base is aware of it. You'll spend a large amount of time "haggling". There are a large amount of phone shops, and secret shoppers.
