Pros
I loved my team. Most of omy coworkers were friendly and inclusive, constantly offering advice and help. Easy job in the way that there is no manual labor and the expectations are very clear. You know if you're doing well, and you definitely know if you are not.
Cons
As in many entry-level sales positions, some coworkers are gatekeepers. Once you start to taste success and get a hang of sales, they will become more and more hesitant to help you out. It can be very competitive, even to the point where coworkers are standing right in front of the door waiting for customers. I ended up leading my team (besides my manager) and noticed a change in the way certain coworkers treated me. The best way to go about this job is to be good at what you do, and try not to care. The people who performed the best were never the ones jumping at customers, it was the ones who were calm and all but let the customers come to them. One final point is that the pay is horrible. Even as the top earner in my store, my pay only averaged about $18 per hour. It's $8 an hour plus commission, which is horrible. I left the job rather quickly for this reason among others.
