Pros

-Involved in the community -Great people to work with -Convenient hours FOR CUSTOMERS

Cons

-Have to wear uniform. Wearing the same thing everyday while working in a professional environment such as in a Bank it's not motivating. You can only wear certain colored shirts under the vest or sweater that they make you wear, if it's a light pink but no lavender you will get yelled by the manager like you are 4 years old. - Micromanagement is ridiculous. -If you are a teller you must stand all day (even if you are working a 10 hour day). Also, you cannot have any water or anything to drink on your station all day. Basically you are treated like a robot and not a human being if you are a teller. If managers have an 1 hour meeting they have to have water but you are working 8 hours and need a zip of water you are not allowed. -Impossible to get time off whether you are not feeling well, have a family emergency, or need a vacation. -Always understaffed, work crazy hours while the salary is very low(compared to other banks) -Benefits such as health, dental etc or absolutely horrible. - They are only closed 3 times a year. If you are hired part-time you cannot go on maternity leave unless you have enough PTO(personal time off)

Pros

To get a paycheck and benefits. The original Commerce Bank staff was nice and ethical.

Cons

Commerce was a customer focused, employee and technically advanced company. When the TD Banknorth people came in, they brought antiquated computer systems, disjointed training (if any) and promoted a "figure it out yourself" mentality.Employees are stressed and don't seem to care about the customer anymore. It's ashame they ruined an outstanding work and customer oriented company very rapidy.

Pros

Vacation time was always a plus. They seemed to be pretty generous compared to other companies with the amount of paid time off days that they offered.

Cons

Where do I start? Management had their "pets" and loved to promote on that basis. The pay is atrocious, the office politics are worse than anywhere else and the annual reviews are a joke. Working your butt off just meant that you had to pick up the slack of the other incompetent managers and employees. No amount of free pens, flashy buildings and umbrellas can make up for the lack of respect management has for their employees. Instead of spending money on "prizes" they need to re-focus their budget on compensation for employees and leadership classes for management.
