Pros

Great Benefits, 401k Company Match is good, Pension Plan, Good work life balance.

Cons

The micromanagement is the most ridculous thing I have ever witnessed. If you need to use the restroom you have to click a button, you have to be on and off a call in no longer than 10 minutes, no more than 2 minutes in between calls, managed on how long you talk, how much you make the company per call, managers watch your computer screen from their desks, when people are let go they seem to like to embarrass them by personally walking them out the door without letting them gather their personal items, the pressure from management to push products they want sold on a particular day is ridiculous, no matter what the customer is calling in about they are to get a sales pitch about a new product and not doing so will get you written up.

Pros

Pay rate is above industry standards for telecom field work

Cons

Poor management and unethical management practices. Company repays many years of loyal service with layoffs. Company does not invest money in new technology causing service offerings to lag behind competitors. Medical benefits not very good compared to others in the industry. Little room for growth in field services.

Pros

Good 401k, good medical/dental, overall company is decent however this is not a company to grow in as it is landline telephones and old dsl internet which is hard to sell due to cable being much faster and less expensive. The company is trying to stay afloat more than trying to grow.

Cons

Unethical Management, Takes 15 minutes to log into systems in the morning, so either you arrive 15 minutes early or you are late. Managers are in the old school landline days. I have heard bad stories of business management staff bullying team members and forcing employees to quit. Very "clicky environment" You are either friends with management or you are an outsider. Promotions usually only happen if you are in good with management. Lots of qualified candidates get passed over for friends of management. The company in general is decent, HR staff is friendly and professional, benefits are good. The people who work at TDS generally care about other employees. The bad part of this company is the management of front line sales, customer service, and billing.
