Pros

Tons of opportunity across all functions, businesses, and regions. Very much an open door policy across the company. If you invest in yourself and are accountable, TE will invest in you both short and long term. Tons of experience at all levels across the company. Great benefits, work life balance, and culture.

Cons

Large size of the company sometimes makes it hard to get things done. Large size of the company allows many sub-par employees to cruise along for years, and some people are put into mid level leadership roles that have no business being there. Can seem like box checking activity with certain things.

It gets worse every year.

Pros

Good 401k. Good experience platform for a resume.

Cons

There is no security in your job and it is not a company you should plan to retire from. TE cares more about making headlines than it does their employees. You are a number, and nothing more. The constant layoffs, furloughs, and high turnover rate generates low morale and a constantly churning rumor mill. Employees with 20+ years of tenure (with the intention of retiring from the company) are laid off like they never mattered. Insurance gets worse every year. TE is very unprofessional with contract employees. Their contracts are dragged out and renewed time and time again instead of hiring them. There are several contract employees who are currently coming up on two years without so much as a job offer or interview. This also contributes to the low morale. You are also expected to work weekends and give every minute of your spare time to the company, but denied a vacation day if one other person has the same day scheduled. Deserving employees with the proper experience are passed up for promotions they deserve for those who are friendly with upper management.

Pros

For the most part, the employees adhere to the core values as much as they can, and the company does want to make a difference in the world for the better.

Cons

They outsource too much of the IT work. This causes constant turnover every year or two when contracts are up for negotiation. Projects are slowed down by miscommunication and knowledge gaps. They say they're agile, but it's impossible to be truly agile when you lose 2-3 months every other year because all your knowledge got swapped out for a different group of people.
