Pros

There are a lot of growth opportunities with customers and potential customers thanks to poor past performance.

Cons

I do not recommend the TE Energy group to any potential job candidate. The pay was poor and the cultural is something out of the 1980s. It is extremely behind the times. The following are some of many other issues that have occurred in my time working for TE, actions towards others that I had witnessed, and stories from other colleagues. Hostile Workplace: There are pervasive discriminatory & hostile workplace issues within the NAM Energy division. The Energy group has shown no willingness to impactfully improve over the years. This has caused the loss of People of Color and women to leave the Energy division at a high rate, however in the years I had been with TE, it was very uncommon for the NAM Energy division to hire women and people of color. The LAM Energy division suffers from pervasive blatant sexism towards women in the workplace and towards women at work events, such as conferences and trade shows. The excuse has been that it persists because it's a cultural norm in LAM. TE is not creating a safe work environment and image if it cannot systemically change. There has also been issues with nepotism in the NAM Energy group. Sadly, this dynamic had caused a exclusion, dis-trust, and retaliatory acts when an employee is on the wrong-side of a family member. Unfortunately, the issues with nepotism are known to persist today. Communication and management: Issues with communication, lack of transparency from management, and unrealistic expectations are common complaints and issues. Some managers are described as lacking integrity and humility. This was my experience at TE as well. It sets employees up for failure, allows bad apples to persist, and does not create clear and concise expectations. Feeling undervalued: Some employees feel undervalued and express that their compensation and benefits do not reflect their contributions. Women earn less than men and good to excellent performing employees (men and women) often leave due to increased workload expectations with little to no recognition for their performance.
