Dental, eye, and general health benefits are a pretty standard package. Stations across the country so possibility for transfer is easier than most.

Cons

Non-competitive pay compared to other media companies. VERY heavy overturn with employees. Constantly seeking new hires. Limited upward mobility or need to spend many years in the company for consideration. Executives at TEGNA claim to be revolutionary, but are very hesitant for change or new initiatives.

Pros

They work to produce good journalism. It isn’t always successful.

Cons

They are trying to innovate but don’t have a clear strategy. The execs in charge of this have a long track record of failure and it shows in the results. The company produces very strong margins but constantly cuts benefits for employees. The latest is dropping holiday pay. Mr. Lougee is in over his head and doesn’t really care much for his employees.

Cons

Everything else. They are driven by IT with a overly driven security centric model even if it impacts people’s ability to do their jobs. Disagree with them and get termed. Steer clear of this company unless you like working in a toxic environment.
