Pros

Great benefits and great pay.

Cons

You will only get a promotion if you play their ever lasting game of corporate politics. Even if you do befriend the right person, there is a HIGH chance they will give the job to someone who walks in off the streets instead. No matter how much more you may know, your manager will always be dumber than you.

Pros

excellent community, great job satisfaction, excellent pay if you are union. however, if you are management, prepare to work for peanuts.

Cons

low wages for management, unionized environment, as management, if you like recognition, you will not get it.

Pros

Great environment with lots of recognition and reasons to perform to the best of your abilities. TELUS has provided a great base for creating strong teams, my office in particular has great employees and i have found is an easy place to find opportunity and success. The key is to find the things you love about the office you are in and to latch on to them. Each office in TELUS has a very different set of skills needed and a very different way of dealing with employee success and failure. I have found that TELUS has done an excellent job of keeping me happy in my position. I feel that I would have the opportunity to move up if I so chose to and would have the support behind me to help with that.

Cons

A large line is drawn between management and workers. Some mangers do find the time to come down to our level, but on a general note, the higher up employees are disrespectful to the rights of the workers. The turnover in my office of TELUS is incredibly high and it seems to be hard to find a stable workforce for call centers. Seniority is a large part of this problem being that schedules for a starting employee can be all over the place. In most cases, the younger employees are students attending college or university and it is ridiculous to expect a full time student to have to miss class or even drop a class because they are being consistently scheduled for an unreasonable time.
