Pros

It's fun to see all of the new clothes and other items that come through the store, TJ Maxx really does sell some amazing things for such a good price, and being an employee gives you the first look and a discount.

Cons

Awful pay for the work. At busy times, you have 10 customers all over you while your manager is yelling at you. At slow times, you'll be bored to tears while having a manager bark at you to do something when there is actually nothing to do. There are so many minute details to learn and if you haven't memorized them by day 2 the more experienced workers will let you know what a failure you are. I've always loved shopping here so I thought working here would be fun, but I was very wrong so if you are thinking the same then please reconsider.

Pros

The schedule is very flexible and works well with associates availability. The associates are extremely nice and fun to be around. The associates and the customers are the only reason why i stayed with this company.

Cons

The members of management are not the best. There is always favoritism being displayed and if you are not a favorite then you are not treated equal or part of the team for that matter. In fact, I personally have witnessed on several accounts one member of management in particular talking bad about another associate behind their back. I found this to be very unprofessional and disheartening. The open door concept is also lacking due to the fact that associates fear retaliation and or nothing being done to fix the problem.
