Pros

- Colleagues are absolutely wonderful - I have met lifelong friends and some of the most kick-ass, inclusive educators I know at TNTP. - Benefits are some of the best - flexibility for families, great time off, and pretty good compensation. - Lots of opportunities to learn - big enough organization that there are lots of places to lean in and learn a new skill, national network allows you to have lots of exposure to education across the country, and the L&D team puts on some great learning experiences ESPECIALLY Veronica's DEI vision and strategy.

Cons

- There is a complete lack of work/life balance. You have to actively fight to keep boundaries so that you don't work work yourself to death. - Promotions into leadership are for primarily good worker bees and lack the skills needed to lead, as a result there are a handful of great leaders and a ton of poor leaders - Executive team hoards power, makes decisions in isolation, lacks transparency, and is disconnected from the rest of the organization. - - Organization talks ALOT about diversity, inclusion and equity, but lacks any integrity to these things. I'd rather they had never talked about them at all, then pretend and then make blatant decision centered on status quo capitalism and white supremacy. At the end of the day, they will prioritize money-based business decisions over their people and over what is right for students. Revenue generation is always top priority.
