Pros

Good benefits, good pay but, its a trap! Good job if wearing a badge makes you feel powerful. If you like being thrown under the bus, this is the place for you.

Cons

Culture of fear and intimidation. Clique of employees that have been there for years but never move up for promotion because they are lazy and don't want additional responsibility. Very petty bunch who have managements number on speed-dial, management encourages this and rewards this group because they like to be fed information whether its true or not. Some of the public hates your guts regardless of how well you treat them but still aren't nearly as bad as the flight crews. In summary you spend your day dodging daggers coming at you from the public only to find several knives in your back from your coworkers and management who should be backing you up. I can't tell you how many new employees I saw "run off" because some little minion was on a power trip and did it just because they could. Each new employee costs about $25,000 to hire and train. The folks that have the most going for them never stick around for long so what you end up with are people who are unemployable elsewhere.

Pros

There is less of a hierarchy than at lots of organizations so if you do have good ideas and are willing to push them you can actually make things happen. Generally the people are at a minimum polite and well intentioned. Great work/life balance.

Cons

There is a lot of deadweight. You often find yourself politely pestering people to do their job so you can do yours.

Lack of leadership; stovepiped and uncooperative organizational units make doing your job very difficult; lots of apathetic people who have no interest in helping or owning the solution
