Cons

While there are many advantages to working at TSMC, like any company, there can be some disadvantages as well. Some potential disadvantages include: Power Struggles: As TSMC is a large company with many departments and teams, power struggles and internal politics can be a challenge. Employees may need to navigate complex relationships and competing interests in order to be successful. Tedious Work: While TSMC is known for its advanced technologies, much of the work involved in semiconductor manufacturing can be tedious and repetitive. This can be frustrating for high-talent individuals who prefer more innovative or creative work. Intense Workload: The semiconductor industry is fast-paced and demanding, which can lead to high levels of stress and an intense workload. This can be challenging for some employees, especially those who value work-life balance or who may be more sensitive to stress. Limited Flexibility: Due to the nature of semiconductor manufacturing, TSMC may have limited flexibility when it comes to scheduling and work arrangements. For example, employees may need to work long hours or on weekends in order to meet production deadlines. Competitive Environment: TSMC is a highly competitive company, and employees may need to continually perform at a high level in order to stay ahead. This can be challenging for some individuals who may feel pressure to constantly push themselves and compete with their colleagues. It's important to note that not all employees will experience these disadvantages, and some may view them as opportunities for growth and development. Ultimately, the advantages and disadvantages of working at TSMC will depend on an individual's personal preferences, values, and career goals.

Pros

The salary here is higher than most of the Tech companies in Taiwan. In Taiwan, if you have a Eng degree but not a CS or EE major, this probably is the best place that you can find for good salary (As most of the companies in Taiwan/Asia + Tech company have long working hour, why not seeking for a better pay)

Cons

Nonsense salary structure. Bonus takes up 2/3 of your salary (Even more for top managers). It makes sense for the management as it provides flexibility on labor cost when the company is facing a downturn, but not for the employees. I heard that a salary structure with a higher base is provided to employees in AZ, which is nice. High pressure and Taiwanese-style management style is absolutely a minus, especially for people that want a better work-life balance
