Pros

Free coffee. The turnover rate is so high that it seems like if you can manage to stick around for a year or longer you have a good chance of promotion.

Cons

They cap out your hourly rate at $10/hr which is nowhere near enough pay to deal with some of the people you'll deal with on the phone. They expect you to clock out to use the bathroom if you need to go other than when you are on break. I worked for the USAA Credit & Debit card fraud division (MSAS). USAA will lock down people's credit/debit cards when their computer program suspects fraud may be occuring. That is not Teletech's fault, but you will talk to some pissed off people and THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. USAA's security is garbage and some members are on their 6th or 7th debit card because their card number keeps getting compromised. The members think you actually work for USAA, and don't understand why there's nothing you can do about their problems. You will take one on the chin quite often for something someone at the bank in San Antonio did. ` Teletech often closes the windows so you can't see outside. Working here is like visiting a minimum security prison every day. I believe the bars enclosing the break room behind the building are not to keep people out but to keep the workers from going from the breakroom directly to their car and never coming back. I worked the job for 6 months before I had to leave or else put my mental health in jeopardy. Some of the team leads are cool, others act annoyed if you ask a question. There were a few people there whose accounts were always "broken" and they walked around all day, never on the phones. This went on for months and was still happening when I left! Training was a joke. Half the time people in our class were playing Magic the Gathering or we were playing silly team-building games. I wouldn't recommend this job except to someone desperate for a job. Even then I'd add to take the 6 week paid training and get the hell out before you go onto the call floor.

Pros

Good benefits like Tuition reimbursement, medical vision, dental, and bereavement. Worked here for almost 3 years although my project was dismissed and I was laid off

Cons

Didn't get a pay increase, and was laid off because project was no longer available because company decided not to have Teletech anymore

Pros

Made some really great friends!!

Cons

Management Upper & Lower is awful, they have no clue. They treat the CSR's like dirt!! For $9.50 an hour the job is not worth it!! They also want you to ask your Team Lead to use the restroom???? WTF!! There are so many things that are wrong with TeleTech... Management doesn't manage, they sit on their thrones & yell at the Team Leads that someone was in after call a second over the time. Team Leads let that position go to their head, they don't try to help their teams, they sit upon their chairs & act like they are doing paperwork. When they are actually on their cell phones, playing on Facebook, listening to Pandora radio when they should be listening to calls & doing Quality Assurance or seeing that their team is OK!! That's what you get when you give 20 year old kids management positions that have NO clue how to manage adults. The call volume is horrible 70 to 100 calls per CSR!! They can't expect the CSR's to do a quality job with that many. The Metrics........ WOW!! If they seem to think that someone is going to actually get a payout, they have to go back in a re calculate that, because Empower got messed up..... Every month?? Yeah thats a case of we don't want to pay out all that money, so lets mess up peoples metrics. When they do that, they lower the moral of the CSR's, those who have been doing great, then there is no bonus, makes them think oohh well why should I even try?? So when it comes down to it, TeleTech is an awful place to work for, they treat their employees worse than state prisoners are treated..
