Pros

Loved the experience of working from home. They do have the technology for work at home training and operational support. Global company and working with people all over the world gives a new dimension to diversity. The partnerships with this company are solid.

Cons

So fast paced does not allow for true development of the seasonal worker. Although work/life balance is discussed, this company micro-manages and requires filling out reports for the sake of filling out reports which requires hours of work beyond the normal 8 hour day. Meetings are sometimes not productive as there is very little empowerment provided to the middle management. The Executive Management is sometimes so far removed from the Seasonal worker that it takes an act of Congress to effect change. The Executive Management level believes a meeting, a plan and a spreadsheet should resolve all issues without the consideration of the customer. If you are on Salary - you will work many hours.

One 5-year period in my life I cannot get back!

Pros

Fast paced working environment. Learned a lot about the ins and out of credit cards. Pay was above minimum wage. Loved the contracted client I provided care for. Expanded my knowledge of software, problem solving skills, and computer program skills. For the most part, my co-workers made the job worth while! Most supervisors were helpful and caring.

Cons

Pay rate was capped after 90 days. Incentive pay was later offered, an extra $60-$130 per month (before gifting tax was applied of 42%) didn't really seem to help. Management, for the project I worked under, was terrible! Little room to grow within the project unless you were a bleach blonde bimbo, male, or were a member of the Mormon faith. Breaks/Lunches were to be taken on company determined scheduled time. Heaven forbid you have to use the bathroom outside their scheduled break time! Caused me to go into a depressed sate, with all the call center rumor and drama. Being a free counselor to customers was not listed in my job description. Requesting days off were a joke! My 6 year old daughter had to have surgery to put tubes in her ears and have her adenoids removed. After our appointment with her ENT Doctor, I put in my time off request the next day. Her surgery was over 1 month away. I requested TWO days off for her surgery and recovery. Friday, the day of her surgery, and the following Monday off. The time off request approval/denial was received about a week after submission. To my surprise it was DENIED! I spoke with my direct supervisor explaining my situation, and even asked to work my normal scheduled day off, in exchange for the days I needed. He had to speak with the "Big Boss" and he denied that as well. My supervisor, myself and the "Big Boss" had a meeting. I explained my situation again and the only way I could get those 2 days approved off, was to provide detailed medical proof. An appointment card, pre-operation instructions, and the ENT Doctor office and name was not sufficient! I found this ridiculous!
