Pros

-Pay was OK for a call center. -The month long training period was essentially 2 free paychecks. I worked tech support and they were teaching us stuff that you should know to even get considered for that job.

Cons

- They'll lie straight to your face. This happens mostly during the interview process and the training process. In my case, it was about sales and my work schedule - Incompetent management. It almost seemed that tech support managers were picked based on their sales prowess rather than their ability to provide good customer care. -Work schedule. I worked 2:30 PM-11:45 PM Thur-Mon. I had no free weekends. I had absolutely no social life. To add to that, the prospect of getting a better schedule was slim as they wouldn't work with me on that at all even after I was told they would during my interview. 3 people from my training class had to quit when they got their schedules. -Sales. The absolute worst part of the job. When I was hired, I was under the impression that 95% of my job would be support. Sales would just be a friendly competition, but wouldn't affect my scorecard. I was dead wrong. I was required to make about $14 per call in sales. -Rules & Regulations. I couldn't bend the rules for anybody. They threatened to fire me because I helped out a customer with a software problem on his laptop when he was only one day out of warranty. I spent $0 on the customer and about 10 minutes of time to make him happy (and possibly a repeat customer) and they threatened my livelihood because of it.

Pros

Made some really great friends!!

Cons

Management Upper & Lower is awful, they have no clue. They treat the CSR's like dirt!! For $9.50 an hour the job is not worth it!! They also want you to ask your Team Lead to use the restroom???? WTF!! There are so many things that are wrong with TeleTech... Management doesn't manage, they sit on their thrones & yell at the Team Leads that someone was in after call a second over the time. Team Leads let that position go to their head, they don't try to help their teams, they sit upon their chairs & act like they are doing paperwork. When they are actually on their cell phones, playing on Facebook, listening to Pandora radio when they should be listening to calls & doing Quality Assurance or seeing that their team is OK!! That's what you get when you give 20 year old kids management positions that have NO clue how to manage adults. The call volume is horrible 70 to 100 calls per CSR!! They can't expect the CSR's to do a quality job with that many. The Metrics........ WOW!! If they seem to think that someone is going to actually get a payout, they have to go back in a re calculate that, because Empower got messed up..... Every month?? Yeah thats a case of we don't want to pay out all that money, so lets mess up peoples metrics. When they do that, they lower the moral of the CSR's, those who have been doing great, then there is no bonus, makes them think oohh well why should I even try?? So when it comes down to it, TeleTech is an awful place to work for, they treat their employees worse than state prisoners are treated..

Pros

Having worked in TeleTech's corporate HQ, employees were generally not micromanaged. Salary was comfortable although a bit lower than industry average for my position. Full bene's/401k w a 3% match, accumulate paid time off every paycheck. Underground parking garage was nice on snowy days. Fast paced work environment and managers were always quick to give praise. Very decent corporate culture, which made going to work much better.

Cons

Stagnant salary... I can't count the number of great employees ttec lost while I was there because they could go get higher pay from the company down the street.. And in 2 years I didn't get a one raise, which is the same as losing money to inflation (That's ultimately why I left). Health insurance was not the best with a $1,300 deductible before it kicked in. Work life balance was not ideal- managers expect a lot from subordinates.
