Middle managers are "Yes men." Upper management doesn't care about employees and families. Very negative environment, cronyism used for promotions. Instability in upper management leads to very low morale in the field. Everything is run from corporate, who have little field knowledge, poor people skills, and they don't care about employees and their families, just sit behind their big desks drawing large salaries and bonuses. It may have been a good place to work 20+ years ago, but in the past 15 years, this company needs total overhaul in the upper management.

There are a healthy variety of organizations leading to a wide variety of career opportunities In my experience seasoned employees do not mind taking the time to guide and mentor younger less experienced employees.

Cons

Office politics often become the driver for decision making. It feels as if some of the messages communicated by upper management are not genuine, that they are just words.

Pros

They had a very good group of people. People were good to each other. Training was provided and people could stay there from college to retirement.

Cons

Now they try to get rid of older people to hire younger and cheaper employees. They do this by taking away the task you enjoyed doing and only leaving you with the drudge work. If that works doesn't work they put you on the road all the time away from your family and working very very long hours. Now they are trying to take away pension benefits earned with 30 or more years of service while keeping top managements pension intact. This after going years under funding the employees pension plan. They used to increase benefits. Now they only cut, cut, cut and threaten. to contract out your work if you don't like it . I used to think it was a good place to work. Now I would not recommend it to anyone. They make promises they do not keep.
