Great place to be lazy and retire, not great for new recruits

Great pay, benefits, and very flexible working schedules. Possibilities to make a difference for the benefit of the Tennessee Valley.
Cons
Constant fear of layoffs and reorgs (every two years...if your lucky). First things to get cut are people. Being government and unionized, there is an unspeakable amount of red tape in the workplace. It is almost impossible to get employed there. There is no recognition for doing your job well (thanks to the union,). As a new recruit, things are very slow. Took a month just to get a computer. They do not invest into their new hires. Management is not transparent. Constant management vs employee kind of atmosphere. Everyone seems to be working for themselves and building their own silo so they cannot be laid off, which kills growth and productivity.
