Pros
Work environment is great, co-workers are very skilled, knowledgable, sharp, and friendly and always willing to help. It seems to be a priority of the company to not only hire people that are technically savy, but very personable with great personalities as well; the culture here is awesome. Projects are interesting but not overwhelming and the company is rapidly growing and expanding its disciplines.
Cons
This was my first full time job out of college. Sometimes the more senior guys are just so busy you end up feeling idle since they aren't always around to check in with.

The office is clean and new with a nice view. The HR group was very nice. It was sad to see Irene M. go.
Cons
Advancement is easy because titles are meaningless. Can someone really be called a Senior Engineer if they only have 5 years of professional experience? Many lead engineers are exceptionally arrogant and simply don't have the experience to be arrogant or to be a leader. The best bridge design engineers have practical hands-on field experience. T.Y.Lin has almost none. Designs are academic and impractical. If you want to design expensive, hard to build bridges, this is the place for you. Meetings quickly become shouting matches between egos. Forget proper engineering - Culture dictates, if you say something faster and louder than the next guy, you must be right. Money, office size, titles, and fame are more important than getting it right or good engineering ethics. Salaries are very low when compared to other firms. I didn't realize it until I looked around.
