      Pros

      The pros to working at Talascend were hands down the awesome people. Everyone for the most part is VERY welcoming and friendly. Of course there are the occasional people at every company that are negative, but for the most part everyone was great! You are also able to take 10 minute smoke breaks every hour. You don't have to clock in and out so you can take a "longer" lunch if necessary. Had a couple cool work parties with food so that's always a plus.

      Cons

      First thing first the base pay is very low compared to many other recruiting companies in the area. Do your research before starting a new position. Do NOT just accept a new job because you're desperate. Turn over is VERY high. Within a few months 8 recruiters quit! If you're not assigned the high commission jobs, the rest are a complete joke and hard to fill positions. The health insurance is an absolute joke (was paying almost $220 monthly for health and dental) and next to nothing was covered. Had a dentist appointment and still had to come out of pocket $70 bucks because I did not choose the "buy up" plan which was almost $50 bucks a month. If you have a family forget about it. You will spend the majority of your pay check on health insurance (roughly about $8-900 dollars a month for a family plan). PTO time is not very generous. Contractor workers do not get ANY PTO days, just a check after so many months of service (if your contract even goes that long). There is no matching 401K. Almost no room for advancement. Upper management is oblivious to everyday problems. Certain people have "special" treatment and are allowed to do whatever they please and it causes a drama filled environment.

Base salary is only a portion of our overall commission structured, compensation plan and Talascend Recruiters can ultimately make as much as they would like to, based on the efforts they put forth. Talascend takes a very transparent approach to the way we do business and many of these operational items were discussed during our Recruiter Training session that took place in Troy, MI last week. As you may have heard, Talascend Recruiters from around the nation came together to learn, grow, and motivate each other and we will continue sharing suggestions like yours to make Talascend the best Recruitment firm in the nation.       Pros

      We did get paid if our managers approved our time. Otherwise, we had to typically wait a few days after Friday until payroll paid us.

      Cons

      Benefits are $$$$, vacation time is shady. Per Diem Don't even bother, the amount changed every week and was never right. No one would return our calls.

      Great Colleagues, Untrained Management

      Pros

      Great colleagues, some decent recruiting tools, good work/life balance

      Cons

      Managers may have been good salespeople or recruiters but are clueless on how to manage. Leadership and EEO training are sorely lacking. Some very cliquish managers who are generally busy smoking in the parking lot with their entourage.
