Pros

The stores are very pretty and well kept. The stores attract a very high-end customer. The quality of the product is excellent.

Cons

The store managers are tasked with everything from cleaning to processing shipments because they have no budget to hire people. They must also sell and maintain a high personal SPH or face write-UPS.

Pros

Definitely the customers, building relationships. Nice working in climate control and being nicely dressed and smelling good every day!

Cons

Poor/almost no leadership from store manager and DM. Leadership would not address serious issues, but allowed pettiness to take place. Favoritism abounded. No recognition for those who were top performers and extremely hard workers. No training, only flippant/random "coaching". Lengthy wasteful time spent on "conference calls" several times a week. When asked about training, was told "you just learn as you go". Extremely high turnover. Don't expect full-time unless you get assistant manager, then you will carry that load plus store manager's job! Be prepared to do a lot of "filling in", so no life except that of Talbots! And forget about being considered for career advancement unless you kiss up!
