Pros
I went to work at Talbots when I was laid off from my corporate job. I figured I could make money, meet career-minded people, and possibly even learn some new skills. It was a pretty relaxed, low-pressure environment, mainly due to our great, laid-back managers.
Cons
It's always hard to work for a company that's not doing well, and especially when they're going through a personality crisis. Talbots was trying to move to a younger, hipper audience and it just wasn't going well. The tried and true customers were disappointed in the ill-fitting, cheaper merchandise, and the new customers....well, they were few and far between, because it's hard to change your image as an older woman's store.
