Poor leadership great mission

Pros

Strong mission and passionate and smart staff. Ability to work remote.

Cons

Weak senior leadership. Terrible culture that ironically creates mental health issues in staff through poor handling of layoffs, no talent management structure, and pitting of employees against one another rather than building each other up. No merit pay increases. Terrible equity sharing for a startup and company that wants to go public. Benefits have also been slashed over and over in an effort to save money when all you hear from leadership is “we’re super healthy financially”.

Pros

Most of the people I directly worked for. The pay was good and the benefits were decent.

Cons

There were multiple rounds of layoffs since the day I joined. Each time they said "it wasn't a money-related issue" but are never clear of what the reason really is. Leadership seems to change direction frequently and people get laid off due to corporate restructuring. With every layout round, morale gets worse and worse.
