      Horrible Politics

      Healthy Snacks, Compassionate CEOs, Casual Dress Code, Free Books

      Cons

      The petty high school politics in this company will be their downfalls. They keep deadwood upper management / executives because there's a "bond" there. They pay far too little for their talent, over work them, and then given them poor reviews so they don't have to provide raises. A lateral move requires you to be buddy-buddy with the manager or exec in BOTH departments and doesn't go to those best qualified, instead goes to those who are friendly with higher ups.

      Pros

      Good working environment. Staff is like family and very supportive. Healthy snacks are offered every week. Constantly changing and interesting workload.

      Cons

      While the environment is positive, the ever-changing policies (paid holidays, etc. ) are due to middle (micro) management. The insurance is good if it's only covering one person. If you add a child or spouse the out of pocket expense quadruples, which is devastating when the pay is just above poverty level. With the company sale to Recorded Books in Maryland, we've lost many good managers. No handicap bathroom.

      Pros

      Casual dress, free healthy snacks, free audiobooks, cool books to read usually, flexible work schedule, independence, very friendly coworkers and owners.

      Cons

      Constantly changing policies, lack of communication between management and workers. You can go 2 or 3 weeks without speaking to your department manager except over instant messaging.
