Pros

Flexible scheduling for college students Some opportunities for advancement (college degree required for ETL positions) The 10% Team Member discount

Cons

Terrible communication between management and team members Advancement opportunities aren't always given to the most qualified people. Many Executive Team Leads I've worked with are fresh out of college, and come out of training with very little practical know how. Very late nights

Pros

Your weekend off There is a lot of room for avancement if you are on good drinking terms with senior management.

Cons

No work/life balance-I was told that a 60 hour work week was slacking off and I wouldn't get promoted until I showed more dedication to the business Very little recognition-If you work really hard, you get a Great Team Card... Inadequate training-Orientation consisted of HR handing me a stack of DVD's...she forgot to direct me to a TV or DVD player in order to watch the DVD's...Unfortunately, this was the most organized portion of the training process. Unrealistic workloads-Payroll decreases, standards increase District level management and support is a joke-I was new in role for 5 months before my District support partner bothered to make any contact with me. I made multiple phone calls and emails which were never returned

Pros

Decent, friendly hard-working people. Generally close teamwork amongst employees. Flexibility to do different tasks, whether it is backroom logistics, stocking, or cleanup.

Cons

A lot is expected of a very small team for a very large store. The pressure to do some large task in a small amount of time is constant and if you can't deal with that pressure it will get to you eventually. This is especially true if you volunteer for extra hours and are given a special project to work on. The hours for "Flow Team" positions are very, very early in the morning.
