Pros

Pay is on or above what competitors will offer. Great benefits package, 401k, and vacation plan. On the whole, the people that work for Target are fun, and good to be a round, they will help make your time with the company enjoyable.

Cons

Work life balance is a phrase you will hear a lot, but never actually experience. Long hours are to be expected in retail, however you will find that the Executives who actually care will work far more hours, while others are simply allowed to skate by. Lately the focus has come off of Targets strategic advantages of guest service and focus on team, and the company has begun taking a cost-cut mentality to shave every penny.

Pros

advancement if you are willing to committ.

Cons

Very difficult culture to understand and navigate. Personal relationships are critical. management decision are made without knowing facts. Presentation of material has to be delivered just right with warm and fuzzy feelings. There is high turn over.

Pros

Target's fast paced culture makes it possible to learn a lot in a very short amount of time. There are opportunities for advancement and the pay was competitive for the industry. Work life balance is possible and everyone has a great deal of respect for each other.

Cons

The "fast, fun, and friendly" culture isn't for everyone, but if you live it you will excel. While it's possible to stand out, it feels like it's not possible to advance as quickly as at some other companies. Also, compensation for the retail industry in general isn't as good as some other industries.
