Pros

4 day work week is great, pay is pretty good. The technicians and utility attendants were really hardworking, good people. I loved leading them everyday, they were a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Utterly inept “leadership” in the E&F roles, promoted based on race, sex, ethnicity, and who you’re buddies with. Has nothing to do with tangible experience or ability to lead. Some were hired openly “just because they were female.” They could literally flood the building (literally) and no one would say a word, but if you missed a simple att code in mytime, you’d think the world was going to end. These guys walk around with “Leadership” on their vests like they have the first clue what that entails. OMs are pitted against each other by SOMs to create a untenable workplace environment full of manufactured conflict. It’s so elementary it’s embarrassing to call these people “colleagues.” The majority of the time you will be walking on eggshells because your “colleagues” are given brownie points for selling-out you and your team every chance they get. Other OMs will literally hide around corners taking pictures of your team to rat you out, it’s absolutely crazy. Worst work culture I’ve ever experienced. Whatever you do, do not have the top performing shift! They will come after you with everything they have. This company breeds mediocrity, micro-managers, and robots. Free thought is frowned upon. It’s literally the biggest clown show of phonies you can cram into a department. If you have any management or leadership experience at all DO NOT accept this role! It is not an operations manager, it is a shift supervisor at best. You have zero budgetary authority, no decision making authority, no nothing. HR treats you like a child and you are spoon fed “by-the-book” corporate leadership strategies which are horrid. If you have any experience, this place will only make you dumber.

Pros

Training is very detailed and you learn a lot of different systems.

Cons

Target will hire anyone fresh out of college for their management structure. Basically... if you've got a degree and no work experience PLUS live at home with your mother still... You're a perfect fit for an STL position. (General Manager)
