Worked for almost 4 years here. They don't treat the hard workers well and they keep the lazy people around.

Pros

Employee discount. Every store can be different so if you get into a store with quality management, it could be fine.

Cons

Immature and inexperienced management. These kids fresh out of college are not ready to be executives. For example, using the walkies to plan when to all go on break together, leaving only one executive on the floor. #1: Using the walkies in that way prevents others from communicating over the walkies about something that is actually important. #2: Breaks should be staggered among employees, especially with management, so you don't leave the sales floor deserted with no one to help customers. This isn't high school - you don't need to go on break with your friends, but this is how childish they are, apparently learning nothing with their college education. Management shouldn't be placing their personal interests before the interests of the store.

Pros

The camaraderie and diversity in fellow employees - I've met most of my very best friends through my experiences at Target between the two different store locations that I worked at. I feel as though they're better at hiring a diverse staff than other companies. Flexible scheduling, and room to grow if you have the dedication to it.

Cons

The pay is pretty sub-par for entry level positions, and these days, even the best yearly review won't net you more than a .50 cent increase in your hourly rate.

Pros

Store discount (10%), Good Benefits, and 401k. The people at my store are great, of course this could change store to store.

Cons

Development within is terribly unstructured. Pay is a joke. Hard work is rewarded with more hours, heavier work load, and not with any type of pay increase.
