Pros

The company tends to attract amazing talent. More socially responsible than their competitors. Best compensation package I've found in retail. Opportunity to promote quickly due to high turn-over rates.

Cons

Work-Life-Balance is no longer a realistic or attainable goal. Hourly employees are treated as disposable. Turnover rates have steadily risen in the past year approaching 50%. In response to these figures, HQ lowered their expectations for retention. The acceptable turnover percentage was increased to within 5% of 45% to qualify for a "green" management score. Good performance is always rewarded with more work and no compensation. Team Leaders have steadily been taking on the responsibilities of executives yet are still expected to accomplish goals on an hourly basis. These positions should be salaried.

Pros

Resume builder. Target is one of the most successful businesses in the US and you are exposed to a lot of processes in a short period of time.

Cons

NO work/life balance. If you are married or value any personal time this is not the job for you. You WILL be in the office 60-70 hrs per week, every week. The Business Analyst position also has the wrong title. It should be Inventory Management Analyst because that is your main responsibility. The position is very high turnover and out of the class you join with (30 or so people), 25% of the class will be fired or quit within the first 3 months. You either fit in 100% or you leave. Also, be prepared to buy a pricey wardrobe because if you don’t look like an Express model you may be on your way out the door. Also, have the most excited/bubbly personality or you will be told you are not passionate about the job and may be asked if this is the "right fit" for you.
