      Cons

      At every level, including executive, you're essentially a SLAVE. Say "yes" to everything and you'll climb the ladder. But don't dare ask questions , think creatively or out of the box. Target promotes from within, which means most managers and directors started at the bottom. That's both good and bad – good for loyalty, bad for fresh ideas. As a result, Target's stuck in its ways, Managers and very senior level people simply cant get out of the associate mentality missing out on potential growth and improvement.

      Pros

      As a low-level team member, I was paid more ($15/hour) than I would as a shift manager at my previous restaurant job (still a popular national chain, not a local business). I enjoyed my work here: it was simple, I got to walk a lot, and the team was great to work with.

      Cons

      I did have to work at least one shift every weekend to be hired, which was not ideal for my schedule at times. Some team members would not complete tasks correctly, impacting my tasks; this was not always addressed when brought to management.
