Pros

Sometimes can get a lot of hours. So busy time goes fast. Learn a lot since they try to teach you everything so they can hire less people.

Cons

Short handed, often hard to get hours. It is impossible to advance in position. Late hours. Very little communication to employees.

Pros

Flexible shifts. Decent benefits package for full-time workers. Social environment with other team members is enjoyable. Management tries to maintain morale.

Cons

Can be difficult if seeking full-time work, no hours are guaranteed at all unless you are a team lead or higher position. Multi-tasking until your brain explodes. Don't do anything to get on management's bad side! Political correctness and job culture are taken to such an extreme, that it feels like you are being beaten over the head with it. Almost always feels severly understaffed at busier stores. This creates an atmosphere like you are always trying to finish all of your tasks, but always seem unable to. Sometimes different team leads or execs give conflicting orders that create confusion and stress. If management is unhappy with your performance you are not always given concrete feedback until it is too late and you are "written up."
