Pros

The offices of TechSoup are casual and fun. As folks work here that are drawn to doing good work, there are a lot of cool folks here. The office is dog friendly. All of my supervisors have been clear communicators. There is a culture of mentoring, and promoting is frequently done within.

Cons

I think the cons generally apply to most nonprofits: pay is lower than in the corporate world, and getting funding approved for projects can be a challenge.

Pros

TechSoup employees often have the ability to follow their passions and touch different aspects of the organization. It's nice to come to work every day knowing that your organization is impacting nonprofit organizations all over the world and allowing them to better meet their missions. In the time that I've been at TechSoup, I've had formal and informal mentors that have been very supportive and showed they care about my professional development and personal well-being. Our People & Culture department is working hard to provide opportunities for people in the organization to feel heard.

Cons

There don't seem to be a low of mid-management positions, which can be discouraging for less experienced hires looking to move up in the organization. I've seen a lot of decision-making get bottlenecked, because most decisions need senior level, often CEO, approval.
