Pros

The overall objective of TechSoup is noble and deserves a lot of respect. Success at TechSoup means you're helping people in nonprofits save a ton on operating expenses and helping them leverage technology to help them achieve their goals. There are also some wonderful people working at TechSoup and they have the capacity to contribute so much.

Cons

Terrible management. Ego-driven individuals working for the glory of themselves often gets in the way of people being able to take initiative and work towards the overall objective. Communication isn't done well which forces a lot of people to cut corners in order to avoid dead ends. Understaffed teams cause work loads that aren't properly managed forcing people to work extra-long days with zero compensation.

Pros

The mission of this organization is so inspiring and the people working there, for the most part, are driven to serve the nonprofits that need help.

Cons

Upper management doesn't allow the second tier leaders to lead. Of late the organization doesn't seem to have the clear direction it used to and feels as though they're grasping at ways to remain meaningful.

Pros

- Work/life balance means that some people can pursue lives outside of work such as musicians and actors - Fun group of people to work with - People who think they can change the world - Certain groups have a good, start-up feel but they are disappearing fast

Cons

- Lots of politics over stupid things like office space/arrangement - Non-profit mentality leads to keeping and reshuffling dead weight - Supposedly consensus driven, but truly top down leadership in sheep's clothing - Peter principle strongly at work here - Lots of very unprofessional behavior is tolerated for long periods of time
