Absolutely ZERO investment in improving the working environment. Sweatshop working conditions, oil in the air with outdated overloaded mist collectors on the machines. AC is never working, and the tech is out there almost every day. Shop doesn't even feel like it has AC on the floor, so we have to bring in our own fans just to keep from passing out. Company is always throwing band-aids on problems and not finding actionable solutions. Upper management is disconnected from the shop floor. In fact, management feels like they are just scrambling to stay afloat. Support departments are quitting and walking out, we have no engineering team right now. All the programmers have left. The company is spending huge amounts of money on new equipment, but can't supply a wrench. I'm not even exaggerating when I'm saying this. I can't bring my own tool box because management says it's not "5S", so I have to stuff what I can in small tool bag and bring it with me. I have to walk the entire shop floor to find tooling to do my job, and the company refuses to come to a decision of how to fix this. There is no 5S or Lean there, the shadow boards are barren, and have been for years. Suggestions are shot down by management, where they only see flaws instead of improvements. Considering this is a medical manufacturing company, it's working environment is disgraceful and not a representation of a clean and safe machine shop.
