Pros
> The company supports fully remote workers (all of my team members, except a couple, are distributed across multiple time zones). > Decent PTO, but could be improved. > Very good medical/dental/vision coverage. > Outstanding 401(k) match and plan. > Management takes an interest in not only the job but also the person in the job. They care about me as a person, not just a "resource." > I am given the support to do my job. > Salary is within industry range for my role and experience level. > While I am expected to show good results as a remote worker, I am not micromanaged (which is a huge plus).
Cons
PTO is 15 days for 1st year and increases 1 day for each year afterward to a maximum number. The PTO is for any vacation days and also sick days (the only exclusion I can think of is the business-unfriendly state of Colorado which has mandated that companies give 7 sick days per year). Many tech companies have gone from defined PTO to unlimited, but managed, PTO. With the other company I worked at, the move eliminated the bookkeeping accounts payable entry for the PTO and also resolved the (business unfriendly) Colorado sick-days law. IMO, moving to unlimited (but managed) PTO would be a good move.
