Higher turnover than usual

Pros

Great benefits. Friendly culture. Consistent acquisitions by a great marketing team means continued product line growth.

Cons

Management changes way too often for goals that are set to actually get accomplished. Strained relationship between business units means a 'shared service' is not actually shared, but help from that department is only a luxury, which makes it difficult to schedule a project and to trust that tasks will get accomplished. R&D is expected to be familiar with the manufacturing processes and capabilities, yet training or even visits to the manufacturing plants is rare due to cost. It feels like it is also looked down upon to ask for time and money for additional training and/or visits to plants. Communication between R&D and Manufacturing is limited. As a result, recent high turnover in R&D.

Pros

Teleflex is a great company to work for. Great learning experience when starting out in your career. Mid-sized company so you get a taste for both "corporate and start-up."

Cons

It is growing very fast. Lots of acquisitions which leads to constant restructuring. Hard to feel settled.

Pros

New office building, good location.

Cons

Pay increases, promotions, and bonuses are based on favoritism and company politics instead of overall performance. Constant restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions create constant instability and a lack of job security. Promotional advances are undefined, unclear, and vary from department to department.

Teleflex Response

Teleflex has a well-defined performance management system, which enables a pay for performance application for compensation programs. Acquisitions are driving growth and in no way cause instability. We are consolidating our manufacturing centers and this restructuring program is driving greater cost efficiencies and productivity, which are vital to our success as a healthcare supplier. Promotions are based on individuals demonstrating potential for higher contributions in more responsible roles.
