Teleflex has an outstanding finance team, and as a public company, we are committed to the financial results that shareholders expect to get a good return on their investment. That focus on results enables us to invest in employee programs like pay and benefits. We're sorry you are not feeling empowered at work. Many employees tell us that the autonomy in their Teleflex roles is one of their top satisfiers. Talk to your manager about it. Maybe he or she will give you the opportunity to have a bigger role in decisions about your work.

Pros

The work environment is easy going. Flexible hours make it easier to have a home life. Not very stressful.

Cons

There is a general lack of energy in the office. Salaries and benefits are very basic. Generally do not promote from within.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad you find the work balance to be fair, but I have to challenge you on your view of the culture at the North Carolina site. I find the North Carolina office is one of the liveliest locations in the company.Employees there organize fun events every month, and they are active in community efforts too, most recently a Habitat for Humanity building day and a walk to support the Autism Society of Wake County. Promotions from within are encouraged and your individual development is valued at 25% of your results in your annual review. That fact shows that Teleflex is looking to promote from within.

Pros

Fast career advancement if you're capable, with good work ethic and get lucky. I've been all 3 at various times in my career here. Salary after a few years is at least competitive and work-life balance is pretty good. Opportunities for training is good too.

Cons

If you're not lucky or very, very motivated you can easily stagnate in your career here. Colleagues have spent long stretches in the same job title and salary (5-10 years in some cases). And these are capable, diligent employees. Job security is fairly low, but it depends at which site you're working. Management is still out of touch and treats employees like children at times.

Thanks for taking the time to write about your Teleflex career. You made some good points about what it takes to advance at Teleflex, and I think your observations would be true at most companies. People do need to take the initiative to let their manager know about their career aspirations. We offer many opportunities to do that at Teleflex through monthly progress reviews, individual development plans and a variety of training programs for people at all levels. It's great that you are feeling empowered in your new role.
