I worked with many smart and intelligent people. Nobody as far as peers was hard to work with directly. Except indirectly upper management gave you few options and will work you many hours overtime to get the job completed with no extra pay repeatedly. They can be ruthless to any one resist their tactics. Doesn't matter if you are a contractor or a full-time employee. They act as if you should be grateful for a job with them. Will threaten with legal you in a heartbeat if you don't comply. Look I understand we all need money to survive. Be careful when choosing this Engineering firm.

1) lack of professionalism 2) less pay more work 3) no growth If you are on visa you are basically stuck with them. 4) if this is your first job then they will pay you really less compared to other companies and make you believe that this is best company in whole world to work for. 5) management brags about their crappy ideas and failed innovations and trying to sell their failed product to other companies.
